Christel House India’s first Learning Center commenced operation in Bangalore in July, 2001 with 320 children from ages 5 to 10 enrolled from Kindergarten through to Grade III. The early days were tough. Activities were conducted from rented facilities with inadequate classroom size, poor infrastructure and no outdoor space. The first several weeks were challenging as the children got accustomed to a whole new environment where academics was a focus along with health, hygiene and social skills.
Today, after just Ten years of operation, a total transformation has taken place. After acquiring nearly 7 acres on the outskirts of Bangalore, Christel House began construction on a beautiful facility in 2003, the first phase of which was completed in June, 2004 in time for the start of the new school year, the second phase to house the high school was completed in 2006 and the third phase to house the Pre-University college was completed in 2010. The school infrastructure includes 29 classrooms, science laboratories, music room, library, junior and senior computer room, sports ground, dining hall and kitchen, self contained medical facility, a well appointed staff room and an administrative block. Christel House currently has 916 children enrolled from Kindergarten to Grade XII.
