M.S. Ramaiah Hospital
Christel House India has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with M.S. Ramaiah Medical College and Hospital to provide medical checkups and healthcare services for our children. Ramaiah Hospital will conduct half yearly and annual physical screening of all our children, provide immunization as per WHO’s guidelines and carry out annual speech, hearing, vision and dental checkups. They will also provide follow up care, wherever required, and acute or chronic medical care at hospital. Furthermore, they have undertaken to assist us with on going advice regarding nutrition, diets and menu planning as well as hygiene education for our students and their parents. They will also maintain all medical documentation and records at the Hospital and at the School.
All services are provided free of charge with Christel House paying only the cost of medicines, investigations and other consumables.
A huge "thank you" to all the doctors and staff of M.S. Ramaiah Hospital for this wonderful gesture.

One of our surprise visitors in early January 2002 was Cherie Blair, wife of Tony Blair, then PM of Britain.
If you have visited our school and met our children, you would know that they are just delighted to greet all visitors. That our guests are sometimes VIPs is just incidental for them, so they hung on Cherie Blair's arms, asked her how old she was and treated her as though they had known her for years!.
Cherie Blair listened to the backgrounds of our children, and spoke to the staff about how we were tackling certain issues. She spent about two hours in the school, with the children having lunch and spending some time with them in their respective classrooms. She was amazed at how fast our children have learnt to speak English because she had no problems in having a regular conversation with them. When she asked the children what they knew about England, she may have expected to hear about English soccer or even the British Parliament. But what she got from our kids was "London Bridge is falling down, falling down..."
All of us at Christel House were impressed with Cherie Blair's warmth and natural way of speaking with the children. She said that she had enough practice with her own four kids! Our children enjoyed the visit, and wanted to be a lawyer like "Cherie Ma'am" or a policeman like her security guards!
